Guar is added to water in to form a viscous gel. The viscosity achieved is dependent upon the proportions of water and gum used. Increasing the amounts of guar gum to the base fluid is one way of increasing the viscosity. However a more economical way of increasing viscosity is to use a crosslinking agent to support sand proppant in formation.

Boron based X-linking agent is used to increase the viscosity of guar gel. Borate crosslinked guar gum gels are shear-thinning and thermally thinning but on cooling, gel restoration reversible. Gel linkages are not permanent covalent bonds but temporary and reversible. The crosslinking boron agents are resistant to chemical changes and remain available in the fluid system to crosslink gels even after shear thinning or thermal breakdown of the gel. By adjusting the rate of addition and of the boron crosslinking agent, the operators customize the surface and downhole viscosity profile of the gel system.

We are suppliers and manufactures of Boron based Guar X linker, Shale Gas Chemicals and Fracturing Oil Well Fracking Drilling Chemicals. We make highly potent boron based guar linker as under:

X-Link 4BBG
>
4% Boron, pH Buffered, Borate based, Green Cross Linker

DESCRIPTION
X-Link 4BBG high Boron content buffered liquid Cross Linker.  It is a green, glycol-free solution for cross linking guar, guar derivatives and other carbohydrate based fracturing fluids.
X-Link 4BBG offers convenience and flexibility in the creation & use of high viscosity cross linked gels which potentially increase fracture width and allow higher proppant loading.
X-Link 4BBG can be added on the fly, typical loading rates are 1 to 3 gpt based on fluid properties desired.
